Scoop Wholefoods was established in the 1980s and operated from various locations around Shetland, including from the Old Infant’s School in Lerwick. In 1994 the shop moved to the Toll Clock Shopping Centre.

For many years, the shop was wholly owned by Ann Johnson. That changed in more recent years when, first, Kirsten Williamson – an employee since 2014 – became a partner in 2020. Then, Helen Dennison – an employee since 2020 – became a partner in 2022.

Bringing young people into the business is part of the Scoop ethos. We value fresh energy and ideas, but also individuals who genuinely care about what we’ve built and want to help shape what comes next.
